The series is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds but, what has been lacking is the sub four second passes that Outlaw fans have become used to on the national scene; that was until now.

Paolo Giust takes top prize in Quick 32 Sportsman Series Opener!

 Top Dragster driver bests large field at TMP’s Cayuga Dragway

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (May 23, 2010) - In the first Quick 32 Sportsman Series event presented by NAPA Auto Parts of 2010, Paolo Giust bested a large field to win in his Top Dragster.
“This has been an awesome day,” said Giust, who is from Osgoode, Ontario. “We were having some starter problems earlier, but the car was deadly consistent. It has been a great day.”
The event was round one of the 2010 series, held at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario.
Giust won the Quick 32 Sportsman Series final round over the Top Sportsman car of Steve Corriveau of Smithville, Ontario, 7.019 at 184.75 mph over the 7.707, 173.32 run of Corriveau. Both drivers recorded identical 0.036 reaction times for the final round.
Giust won the Top Dragster final in his 2009 Race Tech entry over Jim Rubino of Buffalo, New York, in his Bos dragster with a 6.97-second pass over Rubino’s 7.017. Corriveau defeated 2002 Cavalier driver Bill Wilson of Ingersoll, Ontario, 7.536 to 7.360 by virtue of Corriveau’s 7.51 dial-in against Wilson’s 7.360 dial-in.

Eric Latino wins PMRA opener at TMP!

 Driver of 1938 Chevy bests strong field of Pro Modifieds for his first victory

CAYUGA, ONTARIO (May 23, 2010) - It was a close race, but Eric Latino won the opening round of the 2010 Pro Modified Racing Association season.
Held on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario, Latino, of Port Perry, Ontario, won with a 6.47-second, 206-mph pass over Derek Hawker of Corbyville Ontario with a 6.51-second, 215 mph run.
The win was the first PMRA race for Latino and his 1938 Chevy Coupe.  For Hawker, driving his Atchison powered 1963 Corvette; it was his first race in PMRA competition. 
Latino qualified fifth in the field, and Hawker qualified in sixth spot.

Lynia Motorsports dragster ready to go in Quick 32 Sportsman Series!

Driver Jamie Bridge expecting stiffer competition in this year’s drag races

NAPANEE, ONTARIO (May 17, 2010) – Jamie Bridge said he expects some stiffer competition for this season’s Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts tour.
The Napanee, Ontario driver was named the Series Sportsman of the Year, placed second in the Championship Point Award Series and believes the stakes will be raised for 2010.
“I think the level of competition and drivers will be much higher this year,” said the driver of the Lynja Motorsports Top Dragster. “I think it’s going to be a dogfight right to the end.”
Driving his 2008 Undercover Motorsports dragster, powered by a 565-cubic inch Engine Research & Development (ERD) engine, Bridge qualified for all six Quick 32 Sportsman Series events last year, highlighting his season with a runner-up spot in Top Dragster in June at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

New Car, New Power for Orr Motorsports in 2010!

Quick 32 Sportsman Series

SHAWVILLE, QUEBEC (May 13, 2010) - The Orr Motorsports team will be throwing its hat into the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts ring for 2010 with a full schedule in the Top Sportsman class with a new Jerry Haas Dodge Stratus beginning at the Victoria Day Weekend opening event at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario.
The Stratus is a former NHRA Pro Stock car, which was campaigned last year in three NHRA Pro Stock events run out of Haas’ trailer.  This is a state-of-the-art Hass product from the builder’s Missouri shops, with all the tricks, including an all carbon-fiber body, interior and brake system. 
Powering the Stratus is a fresh unit from Koffel’s Place, the Michigan-based Mopar engine shop. An all-aluminum 604-cubic inch B1 with a Texas race engine 2x4 setup using two stages of nitrous will power the Stratus.  The transmission and converter are courtesy of Abrussi Race Transmissions.
Celebrating his 30th year anniversary in racing since starting at nearby Luskville Dragway, the Stratus will be driven by Tom himself.  The crew consists of crew chief Bob Brown, along with Suzie Lance and Lance Orr who will also be competing at a few events in the team’s Top Dragster.
